Disney Invites Chinese Local Designers To Launch A New Minnie Series

Too childish - this is probably the stereotype of Disney's cartoon characters, especially the two of Mickey and Minnie, born in 1928.

Disney wants to break this prejudice. Now it has chosen Minnie as a breakthrough.

In April 12th, Disney invited four Chinese local designers -- Ji Cheng, Han Lulu, Cindy Soong and Makin Ma.

A new Minnie theme series has been released.

The communication between the four designers and Disney began almost at the beginning of this year, and each designer needed to design about ten sets of clothes.

They all expressed their enthusiasm for this series of cooperation. After all, Minnie had a reputation and had a mixed experience with most people's childhood.

Red dot dress, bow tie and high heel shoes. In fact, Minnie, 88, has always been a fashion trend.

The image of Disney, the first voice animated cartoon "steamboat Wiley" in 1928, was modeled after the actress Collen Moore.

Disney, director of the China consumer goods department, told reporters that in addition to constantly introducing new content to keep Minnie fresh, Minnie will also be based on every era in the image of Chen Jingyi.

For example, in 1929, Walt Disney was inspired by the Coco Chanel Easy Jersy series, which made Minnie put on the black and white landmark skirt for the first time. In 1960s, Minnie's clothes were inspired by the new series of Christian Dior, and became a wide swing skirt. In the early days, the medicine box cap worn by Minnie and the super large bow made in 1940 became a part of the trend.

In fact, almost every year of international fashion week, there are design products inspired by Minnie.

In the show, Lanvin, Marc Jacob, LC Lauren Conrad and Chuan Jiu Bao Ling worked with Minnie. Besides the show, Disney also registered the Instagram account for Minnie, and released the fashion list based on Minnie's image.

This year, the Disney Park in Shanghai is about to open, and Disney is looking for a Chinese designer for Minnie.

At the beginning of the design, Disney will give each designer some reference drawings, including all kinds of Minnie images, its symbolic bow, wave points and so on.

Designers can find inspiration from their own style.

In the past, Cindy Soong used black as the dominant color, concise and competent. In this cooperation, she still chose the fabric and outline design, but added a softer auxiliary matching, such as little bow and a few dots. She chose Minnie's white gloves instead of bow tie and wave point.

The independent designer of Shanghai, Ji Cheng, has added more manual elements to the design, such as embroidery and beads. She is also the only designer who has signed a one year authorization agreement with Disney.

At the scene, she wears a sweater printed with Minnie's head and flashes her head.

Another designer, Han Lulu, tends to express Minnie's innocence and interesting urban female image. The western style light dress designed with geometric and lattice elements chooses the popular pink and pink department.

Such pluralistic expression is what Disney wants to see.

Disney, vice president of creative products department Ouyang Dedong told reporters that Minnie's character could touch almost anyone, and each princess's personality was very strong. As a whole, consumers were not as broad as Minnie.

Compared with Cinderella, sleeping beauty or princess Elsa, Minnie's image is more diverse, with more changes and possibilities.

In China, Disney divides young female consumers according to their consumption habits and character into five styles: sensibility, maiden, simplicity, continuity and rhythm, while Minnie almost crosses all series of images.

Therefore, Disney wants to approach the group of young female consumers through Minnie.

Chen Jingyi believes that young women in China are the main consumer groups. They are brave enough to try new things and lead fashions.

Ouyang Delong pointed out that these young women's character, hobbies and character will gradually affect their future families and children. This may be why Disney wants to catch them at this moment.
