Speech, keynote speech
Sun Ruizhe, chairman of the International Federation of textile manufacturers and President of China Textile Industry Federation, delivered a speech. He pointed out that at present, the epidemic situation in the century and the changes in the past century are intertwined, and multilateralism and unilateralism are playing a fierce game. As a highly globalized textile and clothing industry, it resonates with the difficulties and twists and turns of world economic recovery. To cope with external challenges, only practicing multilateralism and carrying out practical cooperation is the right way for the world. The International Textile Federation has always adhered to mutual respect, mutual trust and mutual benefit, discussed, built and shared, and played a constructive role in promoting the sustainable development and common prosperity of global industries.
First, adhere to the principle of making concerted efforts, focusing on development, and maintaining a safe and stable global textile supply chain. The International Textile Federation optimizes the situation, shares best practices, promotes the interaction between different regions and industries, and strengthens the convergence of policies and standards. Second, we should adhere to the principle of inclusive, green and sustainable development, and promote the construction of a community of shared destiny between human beings and nature. FIFA has continuously improved the effectiveness, fairness, balance and coordination of industry development, and helped implement the 2030 sustainable development agenda. Third, adhere to innovation driven, open and win-win, and create an industrial ecosystem of high-quality development. The International Textile Federation adheres to the correct concept of justice and interests and strengthens innovation cooperation from the height of building a community of shared future for mankind.
Sun Ruizhe pointed out that the International Textile Federation textile machinery seminar is a key platform to enhance mutual understanding and trust and promote innovation and cooperation. It is believed that this meeting will bring new wisdom for the healthy and stable development of the industry in the future.
2021 marks the 50th anniversary of the restoration of the legitimate seat of the people's Republic of China in the United Nations and the 20th anniversary of China's accession to the world trade organization. China has actively integrated into and served the world, turning world opportunities into China's achievements and China's achievements into world opportunities. Opening up has become a distinctive symbol of contemporary China. Around the construction of a new "double cycle" development pattern, new opening and development space is opening up, which is a common opportunity. As an important participant and practitioner, textile and garment industry needs to open up new exploration.
After that, sun Ruizhe shared and exchanged with you around the innovative practice of China's textile and garment industry. In 2020, affected by the epidemic situation, only China and Vietnam among the top 10 textile export countries (regions) in the world achieved positive growth, and China's growth rate reached 29%, contributing to the world anti epidemic. Since this year, China's textile industry has maintained a stable operation, and the textile machinery industry has formed a strong support for the industrial development. From January to September 2021, the total import and export volume of China's textile machinery is 6.155 billion US dollars, with a year-on-year increase of 14.25%. Among them, the import of textile machinery was 2.647 billion US dollars, up 29.15% year on year; Exports reached 3.508 billion US dollars, up 5.25% year on year.
Sun Ruizhe pointed out that at present, the world economic recovery is difficult and tortuous, and the growth lacks long-term impetus; Trade regionalization has become a new feature; The deep penetration of digital economy has profoundly changed the global industrial pattern; Green transformation is speeding up in an all-round way and reshaping the competitive advantages and rules of the industry. The development environment of China's textile and garment industry is highly complex and uncertain.
Sun Ruizhe introduced that under this situation, China's textile industry has carried out a series of new explorations and practices. The first is openness and extensive and in-depth global cooperation. China's textile industry continues to optimize the layout of domestic and international production capacity, integrate and utilize global high-quality resources, and promote the upgrading of global textile industry chain value chain. The second is agile, data-driven flexible manufacturing. The new generation of information technology promotes the digital transformation of supply chain, and is forming a flexible manufacturing system with precise matching of supply and demand, efficient link of resources and interconnection of elements. Third, ecological, collaborative and efficient platform economy. Supported by industrial Internet and other infrastructure, the formation of an industrial system is accelerated, with the integration of large and medium-sized enterprises, coordination of production, supply and marketing, and multi factor agglomeration. Fourth, systematization, green transformation of the whole product cycle. From materials, energy consumption, manufacturing to recycling, the industrial system and governance system of green and low-carbon cycle has been accelerated. Fifthly, standardization, enabling industrial innovation with mechanism innovation. With the more mature measures and mechanisms of intellectual property protection, textile industry innovation is becoming more and more active.
At present, China is speeding up the construction of a new development pattern of "double cycle". Under the new pattern, the industry has also established a new development orientation in the period of the "14th five year plan", that is, the pillar industry of national economic and social development, the basic industry of solving people's livelihood and beautifying life, and the advantageous industry of international cooperation and integrated development. In the future, the industry will build a more open cooperation system, a higher quality innovation system, a more efficient manufacturing system and a more green industrial system.
In the end, sun Ruizhe concluded with the poem "good time is available, action is not in vain", calling on the global textile industry to strengthen cooperation and create a better tomorrow.
Speech by representatives of textile manufacturing enterprises
Brazilian textile industry representative Mr. cervone Rafael (abit), a representative of Brazil's textile and clothing association (abit), compared the international trade data of Brazil's textile, clothing and mechanical equipment in recent three years, and introduced the current situation of Brazil's textile industry - the development status of enterprises in production and sales has gradually improved. On future development, he said that 2022 should be a year full of challenges: Brazil will have elections and various structural reforms, including tax and administrative reforms, which will be postponed, and there are many uncertainties in the direction of fiscal development. At the same time, the consumption desire of each household is declining, the cost pressure is high, and the debt level and unemployment rate are also very high. This will become an obstacle to the development of the local textile and clothing industry. However, he believes that the future of Brazil's textile and clothing industry is still worth optimistic expectations.
Mr. Salman ispahani, a representative of Bangladeshi textile enterprises, said that Bangladesh's clothing and textiles accounted for 10% of global exports and 11% of GDP. At present, they have 138 green buildings with green certification. These textile factories are also carrying out green transformation and carrying out green industrial projects. They hope to play a leading role in this field. Now the focus is product diversification, material diversification, and to seek new markets, looking for online market opportunities, adhere to sustainable development, enhance, expand and optimize production capacity.
Mr. Bashir Ali Mohammed, head of Pakistan's textile enterprises, said that due to the influence of Afghanistan, Pakistan had a shortage of food, and its currency devalued by about 10%, which was quite a difficult year. All the raw materials have become very expensive. The market demand is expanding rapidly. Many machines need to be imported. This year, we imported about 1 million spindles, mainly in knitting. In terms of textile machinery, some products need to be upgraded, and some factories are expanded, resulting in a 50% gap in output. Now a large number of cotton must be imported. Under various difficulties and pressures, Pakistan has maintained a 27% growth rate in exports. In the future, they will still invest in new technologies.
Dr. K.V. Srinivasan, head of India's textile enterprises, said that thanks to the increase in vaccination rate, India's textile industry has basically recovered in 2021 compared with last year, and some accumulated orders have also been released. Specifically, India's manufacturing capacity has improved significantly, domestic consumption has risen sharply, exports have reached a new high in October, clothing, home textile, fiber and other industries have greatly improved, especially the demand for knitwear and home textile is relatively strong. But at present, India is also facing the problems such as the rapid rise of raw material prices, the pressure of clothing terminal, and the logistics is not smooth, many orders can not be transported out. But on the whole, India's textile prospects are still very good in 2021 and in the future.
Ms. tjokrasaputro Michelle, a representative of Indonesian textile enterprises, predicts that the annual operation of Indonesia's textile and garment industry will achieve positive development in 2021. He said that although there was a relatively serious epidemic in July August this year, it has been gradually recovered and further growth has begun. She pointed out that from the perspective of the overall operation of the industry, the textile and clothing industry in Indonesia is now facing many problems, such as container shortage, rising shipping prices, and blocked import of raw materials, resulting in a certain degree of order backlog. She mentioned that in the past, Indonesia imported a lot of fabrics from China, but now due to energy factors such as power restriction, import orders have been delayed, affecting many garment manufacturers. Nevertheless, Indonesia's textile and garment industry will still have a relatively optimistic growth in 2022.
Mr. Cheng Qihe (Yongyuan group younghone), head of Korean textile enterprises, introduced the production situation of factories in South Korea, Vietnam and Bangladesh. He said that Yongyuan group's export in South Korea has increased by 22%. After five or six consecutive years of decline, this year's export has increased significantly, which is unusual. Cheng Qihe said that the growth of factories in Vietnam is very difficult. Due to the epidemic situation, many factories were closed in July and began to recover on October 1. At present, they have not yet fully recovered. Some orders have been transferred to China and Indonesia. Overall, sales in Vietnam were very low in September, remained low in October, and began to recover in November. He said that exports, including clothing and textiles, are expected to be close to $31 billion in 2021, which will still decline by 2.5% compared with that in 2019, which means more shipments will be made in November and December. Cheng Qihe also said that the situation in Bangladesh has improved, and the performance of enterprises has improved significantly, and it is expected to further improve next year.
Mr. denizer Mustafa (diktas), head of Turkey's textile enterprises, said that the epidemic had a great impact on the whole textile industry, but since last year, we have seen some signs of recovery. There is a certain recovery in the second half of 2020, and the market situation in 2021 is relatively good. As the second largest textile supplier of the EU, Turkey is geographically close to the European market. The recent devaluation of Turkey's currency has made Turkish products cheaper and further promoted the export of Turkish products. In the field of technical textiles, Turkey provides a large number of jobs for the textile industry. On the supply chain side, Turkey is not affected much and imports and exports are still in progress.
He said that Turkey had made great progress in the supply chain in 2020, and as the eighth largest textile supplier of the United States, Turkey's textile accounted for 3% of the global textile. The United States, the United Kingdom and Germany are the main markets of Turkey. This year, Turkey's exports to Spain have increased a lot, reaching 30%. In addition, in the past 18 months, Turkey has invested a lot of money in textile machinery, and the investment in knitting machinery and fiber machinery is also increasing. This trend will be more obvious in the coming months.
According to Mr. JAS Bedi, head of textile enterprises in the Sahara region of Africa, due to the impact of the epidemic situation, East African textiles are facing a severe situation of supply chain interruption. From this, we can see that East African textiles are very fragile, and we all hope to have local fabric supply to stabilize the development of the industry. Thanks to the control of the epidemic, demand for textiles in East Africa began to grow at the end of last year, and orders are now scheduled for October 2022. JAS said that at present, East African countries have joined the free trade agreement of African countries, which will be good for the development of textile industry. Similarly, East African textile is also facing tariff adjustment, raw material prices, logistics problems. In the future, it is hoped to establish a new textile industrial park to ensure that there will be no supply chain disruption.
Ms. Fatima Zohra Alaoui, a representative of Morocco's textile and garment industry, said that in the past two years, affected by the epidemic situation, Morocco's textile industry has faced a very complex situation. However, in the first 8-9 months of 2021, the industry achieved a year-on-year increase of 24%. If there is no new negative change in the future epidemic situation, orders are expected to return to the pre epidemic level by the end of the year. She is optimistic about the future development of the industry. Morocco has many advantages, such as geographical advantages, which are attractive to Europe, America and Africa; Secondly, the political situation is relatively stable; Moreover, renewable energy technology, especially wind energy, has obvious advantages; In addition, Morocco has actively participated in a number of regional trade agreements, and the country is constantly improving the competitiveness of the industrial chain through policies, which enables the Moroccan textile industry to meet the needs of more customers.
Representatives of textile machinery enterprises
Ms. terasa PIA (Zhuolang Saurer), a representative of spinning machinery enterprises, said that like other industries, spinning machinery enterprises are also facing cost problems. Due to the rising cost of raw materials, electronic and plastic materials are in short supply. Terasa PIA said that on the one hand, in a sense, the existence of these problems is actually a good thing. This shows that demand exceeds supply. Compared with last year, this year's market situation has improved, spindle and loom have increased by two times; On the other hand, the industry is also faced with the problem of raw material logistics. Now the market is better. Everyone feels like they have won the grand prize. They have a lot of orders, but they just don't have the transportation capacity to transport the machines out.
In addition to customers in Asia, the needs of European customers are also changing rapidly due to the implementation of the new EU green policy. Terasa PIA said that they are also learning to understand what the new deal means to machinery manufacturers and customers.
Mr According to andI é wissenberg, the prospect of the textile industry is optimistic, but there are still challenges. Although we come from different fields and produce different products, they have similar views and common expectations for the future development of the textile industry. In the past few months, the production of polyester fiber has been greatly restored, increasing the production capacity of millions of tons. In the next two to four years, the production capacity of polyester will continue to increase. In the field of man-made fibers, China is a source of investment in commodities. In addition, Chairman Sun Ruizhe also mentioned green transformation and upgrading, which is the focus of everyone's attention. At present, less than 1% of the world's fibers come from green degradable materials, which may increase in the future. At the same time, he said, the Chinese market is the most important for them, so they are looking for better technology so that customers can place orders.
From the end of last year to the first quarter of this year, China, Turkey, Pakistan and other countries had a great recovery, and India also showed a large growth in the third quarter. In addition, the introduction of relevant laws and regulations attracted many investors to consult equipment investment. In particular, in the Chinese market, there has been a large regional investment growth in the past few months, because the development of China's textile industry is very strong and the domestic demand is also very large. At present, all industries are facing the rise in costs, and Bigelow is no exception, hoping that the market can accept the growth of equipment and machinery. Generally speaking, Picanol will maintain a healthy development trend in the future.
Ms. Natascha Meier, a representative of printing and dyeing machinery enterprises, said that from the overall situation, affected by the epidemic situation, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and other regions are still quite difficult. Of course, through the improvement of production capacity and production level, there are some signs of recovery in central and South America. In terms of equipment, knitting circular weft knitting machine has a greater growth, for example, the demand for polyester fabric is increasing, and in terms of wool spinning, orders from the United States are gradually recovering. She said that for enterprises, the biggest challenge is the increasing cost of textile machinery and accessories, and there is a gap between people's affordability. According to the existing production capacity and the challenges brought by the epidemic, the business development speed of the enterprise is slowing down. However, she is still confident in 2022 and has a promising future.
Ms. genoni Adele (meghani EFI REGGIANI), a representative of digital printing machinery enterprises, said that 2021 was a year of recovery. Although it did not return to the pre epidemic level, it was also a good year for printing. The digital printing market shows a strong growth momentum in the second half of 2020 and the first half of this year, and is expected to grow in 2022. According to genoni Adele, this growth is mainly determined by two trends: one is that the consumer behavior trend is turning to digital, and the time cycle from product design to launch has been shortened; Second, designers and brands are turning to sustainable development mode, so as to realize mass production in an economic way. This transformation is also one of the main factors to promote the development of the industry.
Genoni Adele said that printing machinery manufacturers are facing greater development pressure because it is difficult to transfer all the increase in manufacturing costs to consumers. This is also a point worthy of observation and a trend worthy of attention next year.
Gu Ping, President of China Textile Machinery Association, introduced that China's textile machinery industry chain is complete, with many varieties and wide categories. The sales volume of China's textile machinery products has reached 75% of the domestic market. In 2020, the operating revenue of textile machinery enterprises above Designated Size will exceed 70 billion yuan, and the export volume will reach 4.5 billion US dollars. Gu Ping said that from January to September 2021, China's textile machinery imports and exports totaled US $6.16 billion, an increase of 14% year-on-year; From 2016, China's textile machinery exports began to achieve positive growth, and from 2019, exports gradually exceeded imports. He said that at present, China's textile industry is in a high-quality stage, the industrial chain production is stable and continuous, the challenges and demands of "labor, efficiency and quality improvement" are more urgent, and the requirements for the continuity, automation and greening of equipment are higher. When talking about the future, he said that China's textile machinery industry will be based on the "double cycle" development, focus on the "double carbon" goal, open up a new development path in energy conservation and emission reduction, and communicate with textile machinery enterprises at home and abroad to create the future together.
Mr. Olivier zieschank, an economist of the International Textile Federation, released the "results of the 11th investigation on the impact of the new epidemic situation of the International Textile Federation" on the textile machinery industry. The survey included answers to two major categories of questions in May and October this year about the business situation and future expectations. The survey results in October showed that the current business situation was not as good as in May. For the judgment of the future situation, 45% of the people in the textile machinery industry think it is good, and 15% think it is not. However, we all believe that the current global economy has improved significantly. In view of the backlog of orders starting from 2021, it is generally expected that the orders will increase by a certain extent in 2022.
According to the questionnaire, the overall situation of global textile industry has improved. Although the recovery has not fully met the expectation, most regions except East Asia are in good condition. In most regions, the expectation of upstream business is not as good as that of downstream business, but downstream market is expected to catch up with upstream market. The situation of textile machinery enterprises is also very good. The expectation for future development is still cautious and optimistic. It is expected that inflation will remain high after 2022.
Concluding remarks
Sun Ruizhe, President of the International Textile Federation and President of the China Textile Industry Federation, said in his concluding speech that the main purpose of the meeting is to build consensus, promote practical cooperation, transfer confidence and positive energy, and focus on the sustainable development of the global textile industry. He believes that today's meeting has largely achieved its goal. The meeting was rich in content, and the speakers shared their views on the way forward, and expressed their concerns about the lack of clarity or issues that need further elaboration.
Sun Ruizhe pointed out that the international textile Union has been committed to carrying out extensive coordination with stakeholders at the global, regional and national levels to ensure maximum inclusiveness. Over the years, as friends and partners, textile machinery manufacturers have witnessed and participated in the development of the textile industry, he said. I hope you will continue to pay attention to and support the development of the textile industry and achieve win-win cooperation. Let's make joint efforts to become the promoter and contributor to the unity and prosperity of the global textile and clothing family.
