Fiber art originated from the ancient tapestry art in the West. Therefore, fiber art and textile art design have a common origin from its material, technology or form of expression. Fiber art is made from natural animal, plant fibers or synthetic fibers. It can be used to make clothing, shoes, hats, ornaments, indoor and outdoor decorations and other forms of products or works through knitting, loop, winding, sewing and pasting.

Yu Xiaofei, a fellow of Huaihua in Hunan, is an undergraduate of Academy of Fine Arts in 1999 and a master of Hong Kong Polytech University from Hong Kong Polytech University. She is now a Ph.D. in Wuhan University of Technology, director, associate professor and master tutor of clothing and dress department of Hunan industrial and Commercial University. He has been engaged in oil painting creation, fiber art creation and product design for twenty years. Member of China Academy of Arts and crafts, China Textile and clothing education society, Specialized Committee. Over the past ten years, the creation of fiber art works has perfectly integrated the pure wool fiber technology texture and oil painting brush texture, and has created over 100 pieces of work. Professor Yu Xiaofei's landscape paintings are bright, full of color, full of charm, smart, elastic and elegant. Nearly twenty works and papers are published in the CSSCI publications, such as literature and art research, decoration, art observation, Hunan forum, science and technology and publishing.
