Mexico Economic Textiles And Clothing Standards

In December 23, 2011, the Ministry of economic affairs of Mexico issued a resolution to revise Mexico's official label requirements for textiles and clothing in 2006.

NOM-004-SCFI

This standard defines the label standards for textile products, clothing, accessories and household products, and the 2006 standard was first published in the June 21, 2006 Mexico federal official gazette.

The new requirement came into force in February 23, 2012.

The revised provisions apply to most textile products, of which textile components exceed 50% of the quantity.

This includes all clothing products, as well as related clothing and household bed products.

However, the identification requirement does not include some disposable products and household products.

Exceptions include oven gloves, disposable rag, paper diapers, sanitary napkins, cotton swabs, baby wipes, materials for outer packaging and packaging, and electric blankets. Toys, masks, furniture, watchbands, shields, shields, zippers and / or fasteners, buttons and textile materials are made of buckles for textile materials.

After the new revision was completed, the standard NMX-A-099-INNTEX was replaced by NMX-A-099-INNTEX-2007 (textile fiber and filament terms and classification) in 2005. In 2004, NMX-A240-INNTE was replaced by NMX-A-240-INNTEX-2009 (maintenance specification for textile and garment items) - Specification.

According to the federal consumer protection act, all commercial information must be specified in Spanish, but can be attached to any other language.

If a product has a lining, if the lining is used with the same material, the lining does not need to repeat business information.

Fiber is less than 5% of the total, and may be regarded as "other".

When two or more fibers in each product are below 5%, cocoa can see the total as "other".

For example, 60% cotton and 30% polyester, 4% nylon, 4% spandex and 2% acrylic acid can be regarded as 60% cotton, 30% polyester, 10% others.

Textiles containing two or more fibers must list each fiber content of 5% or more.

The total list must be 100%.

The term "wool" may include sheep or lambs, rabbit hair and cashmere fibers, and may include camel hair, alpacas, llamas and llama fibers, as well as reprocessed or recycled wool products.

For example: 55% the alpaca 45% alpacas can be expressed as: 100% wool.

For textiles, household bedding, clothing and accessories, two or more fiber tolerances are allowed to be 3%.

This refers to the tolerance of the total amount of each fiber, not a tolerance of the total amount of the product.

When a product label says 40% cotton, its actual cotton content may be 37%-43%.

Note that the 3% tolerance rule does not apply to single fiber products (e.g. 100% cotton).

The country of origin of the finished product should be stated in Spanish or in accordance with the official official code of foreign trade general rule.

Mexico official standard requires commercial information on clothing and garment accessories.

Clothing and accessories require a permanent and clear logo in the neckline, waist or any other visible location. The trademark provides the following information in Spanish (or any other language and Spanish language):

Brand name fiber composition (Mexico standard)

NMX-A-099-INNTEX-2007

• size / cleaning / maintenance instructions - country of origin (Mexico standard NMX-A-2009240-INNTEX) - pairs of individuals: name and address of manufacturer or importer, and voluntary federal taxpayer registration (RFC) number.

For the company: the name and address of the manufacturer or importer, and the voluntary RFC number.

The information must be marked on the permanent label of the product, on the temporary label or on the sealed package.
