Exporters still face some problems in entering the EU market, officials of the Vietnam leather shoes Association (Lefaso) said.

Speaking at a symposium held in Hanoi, the Secretary General of Vietnam leather shoes Association, Ruan Cistanche, said that the EU's cancellation of anti-dumping duties of 10% over the past four years on the acquisition of leather shoes imported from Vietnam will promote the competitiveness of Vietnamese made shoes in the EU market and other countries, such as Indonesia, India, Kampuchea, Bangladesh and Thailand. These countries have not experienced anti-dumping duties on shoes exported to EU markets, and have also enjoyed tariff relief.

If the EU sees a significant rise in the shoe imports and a sharp drop in prices during the year, the EU may consider the machinery or re implement anti-dumping duties on Vietnamese leather shoes manufacturers, and re enforce anti-dumping duties.

To avoid encountering anti-dumping duties again, Vietnamese exporters need to report to Vietnam leather shoes Association and Vietnam Fair Competition Commission (VCA).

The report should include the quantity and price of goods exported to the EU, and it should be shown that the volume of exports per month is only a reasonable increase.

The order is moving from China to Vietnam, which is a positive sign for Vietnam's business.
