The latest "outline of scientific and technological progress of 12th Five-Year" released by the textile industry has put forward the main objectives of the textile industry in the next five years.

In 2009, the National Textile Enterprises above Designated Size achieved 38502 billion yuan in main business, an increase of 91% over 2005, an average annual increase of 17.6%, a total profit of 155 billion 800 million yuan, an increase of 1.2 times over 2005, an average annual increase of 21.7%, and a total of 171 billion 300 million US dollars in textile and clothing exports, an increase of 45.8% over 2005.
