Anti-Dumping

The China Light Industry Arts and crafts import and Export Association announced yesterday that the EU announced in March 26th that anti-dumping measures against Chinese and Vietnamese leather shoes will expire in October 7th this year. The EU industry can submit a "sunset review" application 3 months before the expiration date to examine whether the original anti-dumping measures should be extended.

It is understood that if the EU industry does not propose "sunset review" application, then anti-dumping measures will be terminated in October 7th.

But the chamber of Commerce said that according to Italy's "24 hours Sun" report, the president of Italy Footwear Manufacturers Federation announced at Milan shoe show that Italy will extend the anti-dumping period to the EU as the EU's anti-dumping measures against Chinese and Vietnamese leather shoes are about to expire.

This indicates that the review of EU leather shoes is about to begin.

In this regard, the vice president of the chamber of Commerce, Wang Zhongqi and other responsible persons recently made a special trip to Wenzhou, and jointly held talks with Wenzhou foreign trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau and Wenzhou shoe leather industry association.

Dongyi, Tamar, Jindi, Jill, AOKANG, Kangnai and other major export enterprises have jointly responded to the upcoming anti-dumping review.

The EU took the final anti-dumping measures on leather shoes in October 7, 2006. In addition to an anti-dumping duty rate of 9.7% of the market economy enterprises, the other enterprises had a tax rate of 16.5% and the duration of the measure was 2 years. This is also the largest anti-dumping case ever made by the European Union against China.
