Market Overview:

The textile industry is one of the most important industries in India, accounting for 4% of the country's GDP.

The export volume of India textile industry accounts for about 35% of the country's export, accounting for 14% of the national industrial output value; the textile industry provides 35 million jobs, which is the second only to agriculture in India.

India is also the world's largest producer of hemp, the second largest producer of raw silk, the third largest cotton producer and the fifth largest producer of synthetic fibers. This shows the importance of the textile industry to India.

In addition, India's rapidly growing population also has considerable prospects for its domestic textile industry.

The most important factors for India textile producers include low cotton prices and labor costs.

From 2000 to 2006, India's textile exports increased from 4 billion 660 million US dollars to US $6 billion 840 million, the growth rate was 61%, and clothing exports increased from 4 billion 500 million US dollars to US $11 billion, with an increase of 94%.

In the textile growth of 2 billion 600 million dollars, the United States and the EU textile growth was only 466 million, accounting for 18%.

Of the 5 billion 300 million US dollars in clothing growth, 4 billion US dollars represent an increase in the EU and the US, accounting for 75%.

It can be seen that in the recent 6 years of growth in India, clothing has grown even more, mainly due to the demand for clothing in Europe and the United States, while the growth of textiles is mainly for countries outside Europe and the United States.
